What countertop is best for me?

Picking the Perfect Countertop

I am often asked during the design process "what counter top should I pick?"
Granite, quartz, quartzite, limestone, marble. The options are limitless.
So I sat down to share my thoughts...
turns out there are tons of tips, charts, comparisons, etc online.

So instead of reinventing the wheel, I thought I would point you in the right direction.
I really like this countertop comparison from www.homebunch.com

Currently in our market, consumers are purchasing quartz or granite 95% of the time because they are more affordable than quartzite and more functional than marble.  The difference between quartz and granite is that quartz is man-made to mimic marble (aka you can get it in white).

This countertop chart from www.greatlakesgm.com is good as it evaluates cost and durability.

Please don't hesitate to call us our come in the Studio, and we can help you pick the best countertop for your space.

Mid-Century Modern Remodel

The Heart of the Home

This amazing, mid-century kitchen remodel was inspired by the original kitchen (as crazy as that sounds given the before picture) as well as the architecture of the home.  When we found the pendant lights we remembered the flush mounts in the original kitchen and ordered them right away!  The modern, full-overlay cabinetry complete with the curved hardware from Top Knobs makes the kitchen POP and standout as a custom designed space.  It should be, since it is the heart of this home.

A Calming Master Bedroom

We love mixing existing furniture into new design, especially when it ends up like this...

This client wanted to repurpose many of her furnishings in her new, relaxing bedroom.  Mixing the old with the new created a serene space complete with new bedding, custom drapes, a wooden sunburst mirror and lamps.  These new pieces complimented her natural padded headboard, bedside tables and tufted, functional bench.  And of course, we love the vaulted ceilings.

Hardwood Flooring:

1920s Southern Traditional

Clark Design & Renovation loves to create beautiful transitional spaces.  In this collection of our home’s photos, built in 1927, you’ll see the combination of traditional molding, windows and flooring paired with transitional colors, light fixtures & furniture.  Lauren, my wife & better part of Clark Design, grew up in Nashville, TN & fell in love with the home's Southern Charm on day 1.

The modern color selections of  blue, white, and gray bring out the best of the home’s traditional features like the plaster walls, arched windows and  floor-to-ceiling windows that are hinged like doors.  The colors also compliment the symmetry and coordinating fabrics that can be seen in the details of the well-lit living room & other spaces.  In the bathrooms you’ll notice the traditional wainscoting, the tile going up the wall, mixed with the herringbone tile floors.

If you want to recreate this look, let Clark Design & Renovation, do it.  Or if you just want to purchase this style, come into the Clark Design Studio.  Contact us today!
